Why not also give the sending class object as argument? that also allows for more flexibility, e.g. if the caller wants to have the callback message sent to another object.

Otherwise I'd look toward point-cuts in AspectCocoa ;)

2 do I call it as follows:
[sendingClass performSelector:@selector(selector:)]; ?
or
[sendingClass performSelector:selector]; ?

The latter...
