Extra field editor magic required?

I am currently using a custom field editor for my nstableviews, which I
substitute using my NSWindow's delegate, as described in the
documentation. Unfortunately, I seem to be missing some crucial piece
of code, because Although everything works well enough as I edit (it
shows up correctly, etc), once I finish editing, the changes are not
recorded. However, if I use the normal editor the changes are recorded
(thus it is not a problem with my model objects). Anyone know what I'm
missing?
