You can use command-click to resize a window as well or move it around
from anyplace if it is a metal window.
Anyway I would recommend against breaking the option click behavior
currently defined for Mac OS X. Doing so is going against the Apple
HIGs and bypasses a feature that folks are rather used to using. What
about using command clicking instead since that better aligns with what
is already done.

It does. It allows dragging from anywhere in the window, not just the
titlebar. It also allows resizing by option-right-clicking and
dragging.

Hi Steve,
I was under the impression that command+dragging windows would allow
you to move any window around without activating that window. Does
yours do something more?

Is there a way that I can programatically (or otherwise) override
the option-click in another application hiding the current
foreground application behavior? I'm writing a...I suppose plugin is
the most descriptive noun here...that allows (currently only)
option-drag to move any cocoa window around
(http://sf.net/projects/clickdrag/). One of the most useful
applications of this would be to option-drag windows belonging to
other applications around without a, hiding the current application
and b, bringing that window to the foreground.
