So the question: Is there a Cocoa way (or Unix call, or Unix command or even Carbon call) which does: "compare two executables byte for byte but ignore the time stamps in the Load commands" ?

Take a look at the first item at <http://www.periodic-kingdom.org/People/Miro/Papers/>... it includes a demo app which removes all prebinding info from an app, thus allowing you to compare two applications for practical equality.
