Custom view allowing dynamic creation of gui fields

I am trying to get a custom view working similar to the one used in the
AddessBook application, which allows for the dynamic addition and
removal of fields. I guess this will require a custom view. Are there
any good tutorials / sample applications available illustrating the use
of a custom view ?
It would be great if anyone could point me in the right direction.
