And while we preach: think twice when formulating the subject.
Generally I think the quality of subjects on this list is good, but I
would anyway recommend this excellent article by Jakob Nielsen:
http://www.useit.com/alertbox/980906.html
It gives good advice, like placing the word of most value at the front
of the subject line, e.g. letters with (authentic) subjects like these:
"Easy TableView problem" or "Is there anyway to forward these events to
my custom buttons?" are certain to be deleted by me, the first is
unclear and the second is too long (and probably will be cut off by my
mail client, so I will have no idea what the letter is about).
And yes, it's ironic that the subject for this letter is completely
inappropriate -- but I didn't want to start a new thread about
netiquette, because as said, I really think the majority on this list
do quite well w/o my help! :)
