Sorry to moan, but please, when starting a new thread on the list,
write a *new* e-mail rather than replying to an existing one. There

that replies end-up in the same thread, *even if* the subject line is

Alastair,
There are many things I love and hate about the various
mailing lists I'm on. But one thing I've found in common is that most
people don't know how to use their mail client. (It's less of an
issue on a technical list like this, but still an issue.)
The other thing I've found is that no matter how
sophisticated your email client is, you can't expect other people to
change their habits to make it more convenient for you. (And lest I
sound like I'm chastising you, I should just say that I learned this
from another list I'm on where HTML posts are allowed, but not
reformatted for the digest I receive, making the digest very hard to
read.)
I read the cocoa-dev digest, so my replies won't end up in
the proper thread anyway. It has nothing to do with my mail client,
just my way of reading. I'd much rather see people learn how to trim
their posts before I start worrying about threading. :-) Oh well!
