iCal calendar navigation

First: I'm very new to cocoa, object-oriented programming in general and, for that matter, programming itself, so forgive my ignorance.

I'm developing an OS X application that requires a calendar navigation. I like the one used in the bottom left hand corner of iCal. I cannot programme it myself yet, does it exist as a class object that I can download from somewhere or how can I go about creating something like it myself?
