windowControllerDidLoadNib not called

Hey Folks,
When overriding makeWindowControllers in a NSDocument subclass,
windowControllerDidLoadNib is not called although it is called when
windowNibName is overridden. Is this expected behavior or did I just
stumbled on a bug.
If this is the expected behavior, how do I know when a window
controller related to the document is loaded?
