I just updated the cocoa version check code from the MacPAD SDK. This
update makes it use NSDictionary's -dictionaryWithContentsOfURL: and
NSThread to work better. It no longer stalls the main thread if the
server can't be contacted.
To download this new cocoa code, you can download the cocoasdk-1.4.tgz
file from

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?
group_id=96770&package_id=103646>. Just ignore the fact that the file
release is titled cocoasdk v1.1 and the date is last December - the
File Releases page refused to cooperate in updating that information.
