As I was part of that thread I just thought that I'd add a short
comment.

I tried to use static global strings for a while, but IMO it's a lot of
extra work with no gain.
I'd recommend using simple defines - at least as long as we're talking
about static strings.

[demime 0.98b removed an attachment of type application/pkcs7-signature which had a name of smime.p7s]
