I'm really at a loss here and would appreciate any help. I'm writing a
program that requires playing/streaming several different kinds of
video. Although this is an essential portion of my program, it is not
what make the program unique, in other words this is not a video
program, the video is kind of a necessary afterthought. That given, I
need a good way to stream and show video (mpeg, etc). To my delight,
the VLC stuff seems perfect for what I require, it is capable of
streaming and playing different kinds of video and is open. The only
problem is, I have no clue where to begin learning how to use it (as
opposed to developing for it) and furthermore integrating it with my
own programs. I think libVLC is what I need to use but I'm really not
sure. Does anyone have any experience with it at all or have a good
source to go too. All I can find on their site is mainly how to build
components for it such as new decoders and such which is not what I am
trying to do. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
