Greetings a few weeks ago i spoke about a site which would act as a
resource for X developers, which would include reusable source code,
snppets, a standardized toolbar icon project and much more, i'm
going to begin construction on the site but would like some feeed
back on what the domain should be? name for the site etc?
How many "central" OS X developer sites are people going to start?
Why don't you just offer your help to one of the existing ones, or
mirror them. In particular, I think
http://cocoa.mamasam.com
(the mailing list archive for pretty much all Cocoa mailing lists out
there) would like a mirror to take some of the load off them, and the
Cocoa Wiki at
http://cocoadev.com
always welcomes people willing to contribute (as long as they don't
post self-advertisements). And finally, you could write loads of nice
articles for
http://www.cocoadevcentral.com
There's also OReilly's Mac Dev Center, which caters to both Carbon
and Cocoa developers, and there's also the MacOS X development FAQ at:
http://www.macosxguru.net/
which, besides being a little enigmatic, definitely contains loads of
useful info. And if I've forgotten any MacOS X development sites,
they're probably listed in this list's unofficial FAQ:
http://www.alastairs-place.net/cocoa/faq.txt
Pick one and help them, that's much better than offering yet another
"one-and-only central repository".
