I know, this isn't really Cocoa related, but I'm thinking that
bitching to Microsoft about it would have even *less* effect. Has
anyone else noticed that the modifier keys for Office X (except for
those in the System-controlled "Application" menu) do not respect
keyboard localizations? I specifically am refering to the
Dvorak-Qwerty-Cmd layout, which Word completely ignores (it uses the
Dvorak-layout for modifiers). I suspect this is because MS has written
their own event-handling code, and just "overlooked" this (or
considered it to be "low-priority") It concerns me because, beyond the
Dvorak-Qwerty layout, I have no idea how Office X would interact in
this way with other, "stranger" keyboard layouts, like ones for
Vietnamese or non-Roman languages (Devanegari, Urdu, Arabic, Chinese,
Japanese, etc) Note that I know nothing about how any of the non-Roman
languages are entered as regards special keyboards for to accommodate
the non-Roman symbols, if such alternate input devices are
easily-gotten in the US, or how they interact with modifier keys.
