I am mistaken. Everything I need is available from a C function. For
some reason I thought that I could not access instance variables from
C functions. I just tried to access instance variables from my "C
function" and it works great.
As you pointed out "any function written in C is therefore already
written in Objective-C." That's what I did not realize. Thanks.

Please clarify how your functions are unsatisfactory the way they
are. Objective-C is a superset of C, and any function written in C
is therefore already written in Objective-C. The only difference is
that you can also send messages to objects.

I have a source and header file that contains two Objective-C
classes. One is an NSView subclass and the other is an NSCell
subclass. I have two functions that are used in both classes. Right
now these functions are written in C, but I want them to be in
Objective-C. I want one implementation for these functions that
both classes can use. How can I do this? It seems like it should be
straightforward.
