I don't have code, but I just ran the Audio Hijack demo today, and it's got some nice looking knobs, but they only work as if they were a vertical slider, no x-y motion, just y.

Try http://www.sticksoftware.com/software/CircularSlider.html

I'd suggest anyone implementing a circular slider do similarly. If you're not as proficient in moving the mouse as a developer who spends time at the computer for hours each day, it can be *hell* to be asked to perform a circular motion.

Anybody remember that "volume dial" that QuickTime player came with when we first got "brushed metal"? Aren't we all happy that we have a regular slider now?

Personally, the only sensible use of a circular slider is for entering angles. Though even there, Photoshop's circle-thingie is much more convenient.
