Yea, I second everything Joe has said regarding trading license keys,
etc.
I also try to support the community with products that I use, and will
be purchasing a licensed key to Communigate Pro (as Shawn stated) once
I get enough software sales with FormMate. ; > )
Also, the downloadable unlicensed version of FormMate has full
functionality, it just lays a watermark over the file (which goes away
when you purchase the product. ) ; > )

I'm certainly willing to entertain the idea of trading license keys
with other Cocoa developers, and if someone wants to be a tester for
our commercial products, at a minimum they get a complimentary license
(we also have small prizes for the most and best bugs reported).
As for Metafy's announcement, the Anthracite software can be used for
free by anyone during its trial period and the Arugula software is
just plain "freeware". Besides, if you're a Cocoa developer, you're
probably clever enough to figure out some way to convince us to spiff
you a copy if you really need it, otherwise, PLEASE BUY our software
(and other folks', too) to help support the Mac developer ecosystem! I
personally completely support the ideal of free open source software,
but alas, it doesn't support me.
We'll keep doing a mix of freeware and commercial products to meet a
range of users' needs and budgets, and we'll do our best to make sure
that Cocoa developer comrades everywhere are given the special care
and attention they rightfully deserve, however, I don't think I'd
recommend posting an open license key to any mailing list.
Of course, I've been wrong at least once before and as always, ymmv.
Thanks!
Joe

Along the same line as Joe Pezzillo of Metafy.com, we would also
like to thank everyone on this list [...] We official released
FormMate [...]
Would be nice if the thanks came in form of a free key to the
CocoaDev list members instead of press releases inviting us to buy
your products ;)
