[newbie] looking for help for my 1st decent project

Dear sirs,

I'm a college student trying to get into Obj-C / Cocoa programming. I'm familiar with Java and started to get into the Obj-C language lately, i have some Cocoa basic knowledge, and i'm looking forward to improve both Obj-C, Cocoa and project planning.

To do that i thought about trying to build a decent app, but i'm sure i can't do it by myself. I don't have any experience in properly planning an app's features and planning how i'm going to implement it (which are, obviously, the topics i'm interested in right now). I'm planning to do an audio CD catalogue (something i'm needing) with detailed info on the albums: name/band/date, status (lent, damaged, lost, at home), etc.. I suppose it's not too hard to do. This app will be free and open source.

I don't want to flood the entire list with my questions, so i'd like to know if any of you has some pacience to spare :P or, if it's ok for me to send all my questions to the list (i'll label all my emails' subject ;), i'll do that!

If anyone in here is willing to help me out thank you, if not sorry for bothering.. i just want to jump start my skills..

Regards,
Joao Pinto
