simulating a firewire cam?

hi!

i have an idea for an art project. i have a video camera connected via firewire. i grab the video stream and manipulate it in real time. all this is done with quicktime.

now i want to simulate a firewire device so i can record my altered video stream with final cut pro. i want it so that final cut (or premiere or whatever) can "see" another firewire camera which is basically my software.

i know that i could easily save the stream myself but i want to pose as a firewire camera. how is this possible?

regards, ralph.
