NSImageView setAnimates - Does this work?

Can anyone confirm that 'setAnimates:(BOOL)flag;' actually causes things like anim-gifs to become animated?

My experience is that it does not work. In the absence of any confirmation, I plan to submit a bug.

It would be so much nicer to know that it's just me - so I can get about making use of the feature.
