Firstly, apologies for the off-topic post.
I had a little idea that I thought other people may like to comment on,
and hopefully Apple could implement.
It's about bundled software, at the moment Apple's computers come with
a fair bit of bundled software, some good, some not so good.
OmniGraffle is a superb app, but it's no use to me so I thought what if
Apple gave 'tokens' with every Mac sale for software, small developers
like most of us here could sign up to it, you could get say, 10 tokens,
some tiny shareware apps would be worth 1 token other big apps could be
5 or even the full 10.
This would be great for small developers as it would provide another
revenue stream, and raise awareness of our products.
It would be good for the customer as the bundle would have software
they actually wanted.
It would be good for Apple because the Developers are happy, the
customers are happy, and, if they made the deal exclusive to the Apple
Store, it would boost sales for that too.
Anyway, just an idea, what do you think?
Moray
