As a question from a true ammy:

Shouldn't good design avoid confusion? Thus, the potential for confusion would be the impetus to research or discover a design pattern to overcome it, making the code better?

I'm not a professional programmer, but I would like to become a good programmer nonetheless and this is the philosophy I have (perhaps naively) adopted.
