I apologise if I came off as terse, but I do feel that this is the
sort of thing that you have to go and learn by doing - by following
one of the many tutorials or reading a book. It's not really the sort
of thing that you can ask little questions about incrementally, and
it's not the sort of thing that you can expect people to explain to
you on a mailing list (since there's a fair bit of stuff to cover if
you're going to do so thoroughly).

Because this question relates to how compilers work. Cocoa is a
framework, not a compiler. You might be better off on the Xcode-users
list.
