Ken, I was in your situation a few months ago and likewise spent many hours
trying to leak-proof my app.  In frustration, I wrote a perl script to see
how many of the pro's apps leaked memory too.  I found that my app was
better than average.  I then gave up, since my app is designed to be quit
after a few minutes anyhow.

You can see my perl script, results, and replies in the thread by searching
