You might want to consider becoming a paid member of Apple's ADC program.
That will give you two paid tech support incidences which I think will cover
help for this type of problem. $500 may seem like a lot to solve your
problem but you will also get a significant discount on a new computer (if
you are in the market) and I believe you will get a copy of Tiger when it is
released.
