I'm curious about why the button used to create a new table view entry is

This strikes me as inconsistent with Macintosh usage in other contexts. The
disparity caused me to stumble a little when I first tried to use a
master-detail layout.

Speaking solely for myself, I have to confess I hadn't given it much thought -- mea culpa. "Add" is fractionally easier to type than "New" but if it's confusing I'll happily update my examples. Perhaps anyone else with particular views on this could mail me off-list and it'll help me see how widespread the problem is, and how uniform is the opinion (this isn't to suggest I don't value Bill's perspective!).
