I can't reproduce that here. Maybe the window just disappeared under some other window(s) belonging to another application? I've seen that happen before but it seems to happen randomly to me.

No, it doesn't disappear under some windows. Try doing the following. Open IB, create an empty nib, drag and drop a CustomView to the Untitled window. Close the view if open, double click on the view you just created. The untitled window will disappear, at least that's what happens to me.
