sending NSEvent to window

In my app, i need to create NSEvents and post them to a certain NSWindow that is actually a NSCarbonWindow (created with initWithWindowRef). Im getting the NSEvents from a HIViewRef as EventRefs, then converting then to NSEvent's, then posting them. The problem im seeing is that as soon as i post an event, i get an infinite loop of events coming in. Any ideas whats going on?
