The sleep() command simply switches out the current pre-emptive
thread for a number of seconds, giving the other threads time. So I
doubt it's sleep's fault. It works fine for me in Panther. The term
"refresh" is so generic that it could mean a million things I don't
even want to guess at what you mean.
