YA Newbie question

In an attempt to learn how toolbars work, I downloaded the ToolbarSample source from apple.

It seems to have a bug in it... Start the program, select "customize toolbar...", then show "text only" from the bottom popup.

Now type some text and select "bold" from the first menu in the toolbar. The text becomes italics.

Also, why are the two pop-ups called "menu" instead of their titles?

Are these bugs in the sample code or something underneath? Anyone have any fixes/work a-rounds?

TIA
