These device names are listed in the Displays system preference applet. I would like to get these model names into an array or dictionary so that I can use them elsewhere.

I don't think this is enough, but you get a list of all screens with NSScreen's +screens method file:///Developer/ADC Reference Library/documentation/Cocoa/ Reference/ApplicationKit/ObjC_classic/Classes/NSScreen.html

Btw, you do not get Vendor ID or device "commercial" description, AKAIK.
