I can also reproduce it with this site:
http://www.macworld.com
Which tells me it can happen anywhhere... I'm trying to see what is
common between both sites... I'm wondering what is poasted on the
clipboard when you copy from Safari... its not HTML, so it cannot be a
parser going nuts... it just looks like text and graphics, but
something in there is crashing NSTextView.
My underlying question would be, if this kills TeextEdit, does anyone
have any ideas on ways to filter the content somehow? I can take the
pasteboard data and try to look at it, perhaps looking for whatever it
is that is causing the crash and removing it somehow. I'll look into
this, but if someone has a better/faster idea it would be appreciated.
Thanks for your help!

I can't reproduce this. It could well be a transient issue with your
machine. Have you tried logging out or restarting?
FWIW, I can reproduce it, but only with that one particular web site.
Any other site I chose didn't cause a problem.
