iPod Detection and Development.

I recently bought my first iPod. I was psyched because I thought I
finally had a way to sync my address book on my 2 computers together.
This however is not the case, meaning I will have to write something
in the furture to do so. Can anyone point me in the right direction
towards articles or documentation? I haven't been able to find
anything via a google search.
