I don't know if there are high-level routines (didn't see anything
useful in NSWorkspace) to do this, but you can use ioctl's on the
CD-Rom device or use IOKit. The only reliable way to find the CD-Rom
device is to use IOKit, so you have to use IOKit is some fashion with
either option.
Look in /System/Library/Frameworks/IOKit.framework/Headers/storage for
some possible pointers.
