save image into bmp image file type

Hi,
 
I'm working on saving images into bmp file type and "representationUsingType:properties:" always returns nil .
The image doesn't have alpha channel and it looks fine.
 
Already, I've looked into the lists' archive and found some sample using QuickTime.
 
But Isn't there any way doing this without using QuickTime?
