Associating a file extension with an app

  • Subject: Associating a file extension with an app

How do I specify what file extensions should automatically open with my app, and what is the mechanism for loading the file the user has double clicked on.

I manually set a file association using Finder, and double clicking a data file with that extension opens my app, but the command line arguments don't give me a filename to load.

I want the file association based on file extension to happen automatically when the app is installed.

Thanks.
