list window, account window, sheet -> sheet closes and list window now key

I've got three windows. A list window with things in it. You can double-click one of the things to make it open a window with details on that thing.

If you drop a sheet on the detail window (second window), and then remove the sheet (orderOut?), the first, list window becomes the key window, instead of it returning to the owning window as key, as I would expect.

so we have

list window( 1st) -> opens detail window (2nd) -> drop sheet, remove sheet.

now list window (1st) is key.

I'm stumped on this, there must be setting that either I've gotten wrong somewhere, or I've missed.

Any help appreciated.
