Sending Mouse Events

Hello,

Does anyone know how to send a mouse down event to the finder (not by means of a 3rd party applescript extension).
I am doing this because I have a window with a webview behind the desktop icons, and I want to grab the click, send it to the view, make the window ignore mouse events, then send a click again so the finder can pick it up. This is done in case the user clicks a finder desktop icon.

Thanks
-Jake
