I'm not sure how to find these symbols...any hints would be appreciated.

Click the little button with the lines of text in the "build errors and warnings" window. It will show the raw output from GCC. (in xCode 1.5, you can also just drag up the split view separator that's at the bottom of the window to see those).

If you then click at the "undefined symbols" in the upper list, it will select the corresponding line in the raw output, and below it you'll see a list of the symbols (already name-mangled).

PS - Alastair, any chance of adding this question to the FAQ? It seems to come up frequently enough.
