drag delete from NSTableView

  • Subject: drag delete from NSTableView

i'd like to implement dragging a row from an NSTableView to the trash icon (in the dock) to indicate delete the dragged row. the only way i can figure out how to accomplish this is to provide a subclass of NSTableView that implements draggedImage:endedAt:operation: and to use either an instance variable in my subclass or a global to indicate which row is being dragged. ie, i can't see any other way for either the NSTableView delegate or data source to get control when the drag ends at the trash icon, and i can't see any way for draggedImage:endedAt:operation: to get access to the appropriate NSDraggingInfo.

is there a cleaner way to do this? ie, am i missing something simple? (or not so simple?)

thanx,
ken
