Well, in this same digest is a message with an " é" (e acute accent).
And here is another test: "虫" = a Chinese bug, "แมลง" a Thai bug in its own writing and finally: "Käfer", a German one.
Let's see, what the us-ascii list will make of this.


On my machine, I'm receiving plain text digests with a header
saying Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii", and things like Ondra's
last name are being wrecked,

Same here: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
