Try setting a delegate on the menu and implement menuNeedsUpdate in the
delegate. Should work too.

Thanks, that did it. I knew there had to be a simple
answer. By the way, I am wondering, what's the
conseptual reason for the NSPopUpButton to not have a
delegate? It would seem reasonable to me for the
button to ask its delegate at runtime: "I am about to
pop up. what should my menu be?". It is not needed
before that time anyway, right?
