To repeat what I did with the mmalc FilteringController example (just
because I didn't understand how peopleController was used):

Checking those NIBs directly, peopleController proved
- in MainMenu.nib to be used in the bindings of those four textfields,
- in MyDocument.nib it's the File's Owner outlet, AND there are some
bindings, too.
<snip>
So my original question remains:
Why and how does the exception arise if there are no bindings and no
source code reference to peopleController?
There *are* bindings, from MainMenu.nib, as shown above. That's the
reason the exception is risen.
I am suspicious that there may be an undocumented thing going on here
but don't have a clue where to look for this.
There are undocumented things going on here all right, but not at this
comparatively easy level :)
Does MMALC care to comment (please)?
I guess he keeps his temper tightly under control, not daring to say
what he would like to :)))))
Thanks very much Ondra for your patience and explanation on this.
[Peter slaps himself for not bothering to look in MainMenu.nib]
Note: In the following none of my comments are mean't to be negative or
disparaging to anyone.
Well I like puzzles and much of the learning curve on bindings is like
a puzzle to me.
I am not accustomed to looking in MainMenu.nib for a documentt
application.
I don't see why mmalc would lose his temper over my puzzlement.
Also to say this is comparatively easy - that's a bit like beauty; it
depends on the eye of the beholder.
It sure wasn't easy for me or else I wouldn't have bothered this group
with it.
I will add my other thought's in reply to the other two emails on this
subject.
Thanks again for contributing to my education.
respect....
Peter
