newbie question re text field and special glyphs

  • Subject: newbie question re text field and special glyphs

i'm writing a keyboard macro program and i've got an NSTextField in which i wish to display the trigger hot key. i've provided my own field editor and i am able to successfully get all the keyboard keys and modifiers. however, i haven't been able to figure out how to display the appropriate glyphs for function keys, etc.

ie. the lucinda grande has "special" glyphs for the function keys, arrows, etc., and i would rather use these glyphs than using strings (eg, F14, leftarrow, etc.).

can this be done?and if so, how?

thanx,
ken
