Well, personally Apple's tutorials didn't give me much, but the first book on the list (Hillegass, 2nd ed.) worked fine for me. Though, if you have no experience in C programming, you'll want a good book on C, too. I personally learned C with the first (dead- tree) edition of "Learn C on the Macintosh" by Dave Mark. There's a new edition for OS X out these days, and I'd recommend you get that (That would be what? 3rd edition?). It's an e-book, though.
