Daniel,

If you're considering to write an input method, the TSM API is the only officially supported approach.
However, that doesn't necessarily mean you need to write everything in Carbon.


So should I write my model in Cocoa (for the linguistic data) with a Carbon plugin
So, this can be an option for you (in fact, majority of commercial input methods on Mac OS X are written that way these days).
