How about what happens when you try to type the second and fourth letters
in the word "déjà" (using the default U.S. keyboard layout)? Is this the

You know, I was wondering about that. I used to see a colored highlight and an accent mark appear when I typed a dead key in a Cocoa app, but today I'm not seeing that (although the accented character does appear when I type the corresponding letter).
I don't know why it's not working today :|
