scaling code?
I asume Adam is asking whether NSWorkspace can also retrieve other icon
members, the 16x16 member in this case.
I would also be interested in the answer. If you look at NSDocument's
behavior as example: it displays the 16x16 pixel member of the icon of
its opened file type in the titlebar. Where does it get that from?

the iconForFile method from NSWorkspace retrieves a 32 x 32 icon that
doesn't scale well for use in compact lists. Is there a better option?
Perhaps there is something wrong with your scaling code. I use
iconForFile
and scale to 16x16 and it looks great. m.
