Hi Segher:

Many thanks for writing. It's not quite what I'm looking for, but your code snippet will definitle help me get started, and I will let you know how it goes. What I'm trying to do is have a transparent center and draw a "beveled" edge which I believe is done by drawing a white (or light grey) on one side of the line, with black on the other.
