Address Book's Window menu keeps a reference to the main window at all times, with a checkmark next to it if the window is open. What would be the best way of going about doing this? I've tried just adding an item to the menu in Interface Builder and connecting it to makeKeyAndOrderFront:, but because of the way the menu is automatically populated, I wind up with redundant entries, or the entry disappears nevertheless. Thanks in advance for any help.

Check the documentation for -[NSWindow setExcludedFromWindowsMenu:].
